One of my most favorite things about living in North Carolina is that there are Harris Teeters everywhere! Now that might reveal just how exciting my life can be, and I’m not kidding when I say it’s way on up there on my favorite things list. I love that I can log into my HT account online, do my grocery shopping from my bed, then pull up to the curb and have someone load up my groceries for me. Some may call that lazy; I call it efficient! I mean I can shop strictly from the items that are on sale and call up my personal shopper, Patty, if I ever forget anything. It’s fantastic.
Anyway, I was expressing this love of mine to my great uncle over Christmas and his response was, “How are you ever going to find the love of your life if you never actually go into the grocery store?” This lead me to question if he has an insight into my future that I’m unaware of and if I’ll fall in love in the produce section.
Well he would have been proud of me this morning because I performed the dreaded chore of grocery shopping without any help. Did I find the love of my life? No. Unfortunately, all of the men in there were married, with kids, or 16 and bagging groceries. Oh well – I did find strawberries for $1.25 a quart and that’s a success in my book.
